Rev. Dr. Stanley Hearst Sr. Biography
Pastor of Bethel AME Church, Moorestown,
NJ
Pastor Hearst was born in the heart of West Philadelphia, educated in the Philadelphia Public Schools, is a Veteran of the United States Air Force, and was employed by the Federal Government for 23 years.
Upon
acknowledging the call to preach the
Gospel of our Lord and Savior Jesus
Christ, Pastor Hearst embarked upon his
academic and theological journey and
earned the following degrees: Bachelor
of Science in Urban Ministry Management
from Geneva College @ CUTS,
Master of Arts in Missiology from
Westminster Theological Seminary
Master of Divinity from Eastern Baptist
Seminary (now Palmer)
Doctor of Ministry from Eastern Baptist
Seminary (now Palmer)
Dr. Hearst is an adjunct professor at
The Center for Urban Theological Studies
(CUTS) in Philadelphia, PA. African
Methodism has trusted Dr. Hearst with
several pastorates over the years and
has been serving faithfully here at
Bethel in Moorestown, NJ since November
2003. He currently serves the New Jersey
Annual Conference in the following
capacities: The Board of Examiners, the
Board of Trustees, the Finance
Committee, and the Chairman of the
Committee on Admissions and Orders on
the Camden/Trenton District.
Dr. Hearst is blissfully married to the former Sharon Y. Carter Gray of Steelton, PA. Together they are the proud parents of Kasean Gray and Stanley Hearst II, a 2005 graduate of Penn State University. They are also the grandparents of Julian D. Gray and Tory M. Gray.
